I value the therapeutic relationship as the foundational tool for change.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist helping adults navigate major life changes and challenging family or interpersonal relationships.
I also specialize in issues related to perinatal mental health, including fertility, pregnancy, and adjusting to parenthood. Often people’s plans for getting pregnant or ideas about how being a parent will feel do not match their lived experience. The differences between these expectations and reality can be painful. My goal in therapy is to help new moms and their partners cope with these challenges and feel better about their transition to parenthood.
My therapeutic approach is integrative, combining psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, and relational techniques. In therapy we will work to couple practical symptom reduction strategies with increased self-awareness of past patterns, fostering both immediate and lasting change.
I received my doctorate in clinical psychology from The George Washington University and my BA in psychology from Cornell University. I have previously worked in hospitals, schools, community clinics, and a group practice, providing psychotherapy, psychological assessments, and clinical supervision. I am a professional member of Postpartum Support International (PSI) and have completed trainings with PSI, the Seleni Institute, and The Postpartum Stress Center.
Licensed to provide psychotherapy to clients located in MD, VA, NY, and PSYPACT participating states, as well as in Washington, DC.
